BBC/Discovery Channel – Noah’s Ark: The Real Story
I really enjoyed watching this video. Of cause the story can’t have happened the way it is told in the Bibile and Quran. However, like many of the stories in the Bible and Quran, the story of Noah probably was very different to begin with and got picked up on and modified in religious texts. In fact this documentary suggests a probable origin for the story of Noah. They suggest that the original story was based upon far more probable events. The flood was local, for a shorter period, and all the animals in the world weren’t on an “ark”. They provide compelling physical evidence for their suggestions.
Islam is actually a great example of stories being picked up on by people, altered, and made a part of religious dogma.
